Pros and Cons of using a Menstrual Cup

Pro - Did you know each Hello Cup will last at least five years. Using one is saving the equivalent of more than 2000 single use tampons or pads!! That's a simple way to make a huge difference.

Pro - They are cheaper, just look at the point above to see how much money you could save. Tampons and pads are becoming increasingly expensive, especially when you prefer to use organic brands. 

Con - You may feel it more than tampons. Menstrual cups are bigger. You may get used to this quite quickly but it can cause discomfort for some. Its worth mentioning though that  menstrual cups don't need to be inserted as far as tampons. 

Pro - Longer protection, menstrual cups can usually last for up to 12 hours before needing to be changed. That’s an improvement for many of us who need to change their tampon/pad every few hours for fear of leaking.

Pro -  Can reduce odour. Menstrual cups will naturally seal and prevent what it collects from being exposed to air. This eliminates odour typically experienced when using other feminine hygiene products.

Con - Insertion can take time to get used to. Just like when we first started using tampons at the start it can be difficult. Once you’ve mastered it you wont give it a second thought but that small period of change could lead you to give up.
