Preparation method

  1. Set oven temperature to 180C
  2. Place the chopped apples into a large bowl along with the blueberries
  3. Add the rice malt syrup, vanilla extract, orange juice and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
  4. Transfer the fruit mixture to a standard square baking dish or pan
  5. Bake in oven for approx. 8-10 minutes. You want the fruit mixture to be warm and beginning to bubble
  6. In the meantime, combine ingredients of the crumble mix into a bowl. The mixture should be well coated but not dry. Add an extra tbsp of coconut oil to the mixture if needed
  7. Remove dish from oven, top fruit mixture with the crumble mixture and bake in the oven for a further 25-30 minutes. You want the crumble top to be crispy and browned
  8. Serve as is or with vegan custard, a scoop of dairy-free vanilla ice-cream, whipped coconut cream, vegan caramel sauce, or a dollop of coconut yoghurt

  • You can also use an air fryer by placing the crumble into an air fryer at 160C for 20-25 minutes, or until brown and crispy
